We take play seriously here in Riverstone.

Parks and playgrounds can be found in many Riverstone neighborhoods, allowing residents to walk or bike for a morning or afternoon of fun. And while we love all of our parks, there are three standouts that deserve the spotlight.

Big Adventure Park
Adjacent to The Club at Riverstone, Big Adventure Park is a vibrant choice for children with big imaginations. This nature-themed playground offers brightly colored climbing structures, a zip line and rope bridge suspended six feet above ground. Timber steps, rolling hills and a massive oak tree create natural ambiance. A magenta path leads children on their big adventure in this aptly named park. A nearby pavilion lets parents relax while watching their children play.

Wetlands Park
This 9-acre expanse is an immersive study of a wildlife ecosystem. Visitors can view the birds and animals who make their home there from a boardwalk and viewing platform. The park has an eight-foot concentric path allowing residents to enjoy the park without disturbing wildlife. Cypress domes — natural formations typically found in wetlands areas — are home to a variety of flora. Kids enjoy getting their hands dirty in the mud pie kitchen and can hone their stone-skipping skills trying to reach distance targets in the water. A large, acrylic root wall lets young horticulturists see what grows below the surface. Plus, submerged stone paths provide a place for children to get their feet wet as they wade through the park’s water features.

Central Park
A fantastic treehouse is the signature feature of the 4-acre Central Park, located in Avalon at Riverstone. Little ones can charge up the stairway to the shaded platform above as they ward off raiders in an imaginary game of pirates. A sandpit allows young paleontologists to search for dinosaur bones. There are even opportunities for children to safely run barefoot over paths of tile, wood and pebbles. Tall trees and grassy meadows encourage exploits that will be told over and over again before tired adventurers tumble into bed.

Bark Park
Not to be left out, adventuresome doggies also have a place where they can run, chase and play ball. The 3.5-acre Bark Park is one of Fort Bend’s largest, meaning there is plenty of room for big and small dogs, with separate fenced-in space for each.
