Riverstone Retains Status as Houston's Most Active Community

July 03, 2016

Riverstone continues to rank as Houston’s most active master-planned community, according to data published by Metrostudy.

The housing consultant firm ranked Houston’s top 25 developments based on the number of houses builders started in 2015. Riverstone started 692 houses last year – 200 more than the No. 2 development. This is the third year in a row that the Fort Bend community has landed the No. 1 spot.

Riverstone, a Johnson Development Corp. community, has won a number of accolades over the years including being named the top-selling master-planned community in Texas by real estate advisory group Robert Charles Lesser & Co. (RCLCO).

The 3,700-acre development in Fort Bend offers a variety of home types — including patio homes, townhomes, executive homes and custom homes — appealing to buyers at every life stage. Homes are priced from the $300,000s.

Additionally, the community offers a number of high-end amenities such as the 17-acre Club at Riverstone, a recreation complex that houses an 8,000-square foot clubhouse with a state-of-the-art fitness center and a catering kitchen, eight tennis courts and a resort-style pool with water slides. Big Adventure Park, a nature-themed playground with a zip line and suspended rope bridge, also is located within the complex.

Riverstone is one of four Johnson Development projects to be listed among the top 10 active communities on the list. Woodforest ranked No. 4, with 409 home starts, and is the most active community in South Montgomery County. Riverstone’s sister Fort Bend community, Sienna Plantation, had 376 home starts, placing it fifth on the tally. Cross Creek Ranch in Fulshear is ranked No. 6 with 346 home starts.
