Elkins Ready For Baseball Playoffs

The Elkins Knights are batting for a Region III-5A bi-district victory against the Angleton Wildcats.

The first game will be played 7:30 p.m. Friday at Angleton High School. Game 2 is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday at Carpenter Field, with a third game following the second, if needed.

The Knights boast a district record of 8-5 for the current season. The Elkins baseball team has won three Texas 5A state championships, taking the crown in 2003, 2002 and 1995. Also in 2002, the Knights were Baseball America and USA Today national champions. The team won district in both 2015 and 2014.
