Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree: What to do with your tree

December 28, 2011

If a live Christmas tree was the centerpiece of your holiday décor, you are now faced with the annual chore of disposing it. Luckily, the cities of Sugar Land and Missouri City can make the task a little easier.

In Sugar Land, trees can be recycled on residents’ green waste day, which happens once a week.

Missouri City residents who receive service from Republic Services can leave their trees curbside Dec. 28, Jan. 4 and Jan. 7. Trees also can be dropped off at the Missouri City Recycling Center, 1919 Scanlin Road, Dec. 27 through Jan. 6.

Trees for recycling should be unflocked with the tree stand and all decorations removed.

For more information on Christmas tree recycling in Sugar Land, call 281-275-2450 or email solidwaste@sugarlandtx.gov. For more information in Missouri City, call 281-403-8500 or email solidwaste@missouricitytx.gov.
